State by-election super Saturday announced for February 2025

The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, The Hon. Maree Edwards MP issued the writ for the Werribee District by-election today, confirming that the by-election will be held on Saturday 8 February. This is the same day as the Prahran District by-election.

The Werribee District by-election was triggered by the resignation of The Hon. Tim Pallas on Monday 6 January.

‘Voting is compulsory for all enrolled voters in Werribee District. I urge you to check that your enrolment details are current. You must be correctly enrolled by the close of roll at 8 pm on Monday 13 January,’ Electoral Commissioner Sven Bluemmel said.

Voters can enrol or update their enrolment details online at vec.vic.gov.au. They can also sign up for the Victorian Electoral Commission’s (VEC) free SMS and email election reminder service, VoterAlert.
