State elections are held on the last Saturday in November every 4 years. Learn more Local council elections In a local council election, you vote for the people who represent you in your local area. Local council elections are held in October every 4 years. Learn more Council countbacks and by-elections If a councillor resigns or cannot complete their term, the process to elect a new person to fill their vacancy can differ.
